SNAKES is based on the media installation “we are already history, and we don´t know it“. The brain is the major theme of this body of work, which includes various moving image pieces and an augmented reality application that examine the nature and function of our nervous system's central organ, as well as its digital counterparts.
In a usual fashion, the abstract is combined with the figurative to create immersive places that swing between the physical and virtual domains. On abstract patterns, idealized representations of items resembling organic structures, human cells, microbes, and artificial landscapes are layered.
The materiality of the computer-generated imagery flows effortlessly between the organic and the synthetic, pointing to a hybrid future, in which the analogue and the digital spheres have merged.
