"The oil painting 'Thunderstorm Light at Charlottenburg Palace' was created in 2019 directly in front of Charlottenburg Palace. It was a very stormy autumn day and I was thrilled by the black rain front behind the castle. For a brief moment, the castle shone in full light. Shortly after, the rain started. Fortunately, I have a photographic memory for light and so I was able to finish painting this saved moment from memory on the spot. If you look closely, you can even spot dust in the picture that was blown on it by the wind. I deliberately allow these elements of nature. They give the image a certain authenticity." – Christopher Lehmpfuhl
