"For me, saving the Oceans means holding on to their beauty." – Tim Berresheim

Every second breath we take is generated by the oceans. Honoring World Oceans Day on June 8th, a day that unites and rallies the world to protect and restore our blue planet, this physical drop by German artist Tim Berresheim will support the environmental organization Parley for the Oceans.

Parley for the Oceans is a new form of environmental organization that brings together creators, thinkers, and leaders across brands, governments, creative communities, and environmental groups to raise awareness for the beauty and fragility of the oceans and collaborate on projects that can end their destruction. In Tim Berresheim’s signature style of computer-generated imagery the artwork depicts a rippling surface based on algorithms of oceanic wave formations taken from research data published by the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology. While Berresheim's compositions are the product of precise three-dimensional digital renderings, his abstracted linework and tangled compositions evoke the gestures of a swift hand. Through an Augmented Reality feature, included in the artwork, the digital origin of the print edition’s motif can be experienced as a digital sculpture in space.

Tim Berresheim is an artist and musician practicing within the field of computer generated art. Since 2002, he has been producing artworks made with CGI and DGI that are realized in form of sculptures, 3D-, silk screen- and c-prints. The additional component of AR which he has explored and used since 2015 led him to create various perspectives, depictions of 3-dimensionality and movement.

The frame is white glaced ayous wood with acrylic glass that has 84% UV protection. Framed dimensions are 63 x 43 cm; 24 3/4 x 17 3/4 x in.
