“My medium in the design is always classic. Already in the primer I make sure that I use, for example, a chalk base for glazing technique. I work according to traditional painting techniques. I follow the same principle with the drawings on handmade paper or the ceramics. So the tension of my work is not created by experimenting with the medium itself but by the content of what I present and the combination of how I put it together. Of course, I still ask myself formal questions, for example, I move in a very reduced color spectrum, I work serially and like the installative moment of objects in combination with painting or drawings. - Lena Valenzuela
