"My works are made from the superimposition of elements to create a new image. That is to say, from the coating or addition of layers of colors, textures, or industrial materials, such as methacrylate, industrial chloroform, etc. I have always kept in mind the spontaneity, and the alchemy in the creative process. My style, or more evident references arise from post pictorial abstraction in connection with "figuration". It is a revision of some of the artistic movements and styles of the 20th century that interest me the most. In the last years, to these concepts have been added the industrial ones, the idea of building or assembling elements or materials offering a new reading, without losing the pulse of what I consider as 'a praise to the plastic'." – Santiago Picatoste.
