Georgian artist Thea Djordjadze contributed to documenta 13, 2012, in Kassel. In a greenhouse, Djordjadze has realized an architecture that does not want to be architecture. The visitor was supposed to feel vulnerable in a glass room, where elements gave the impression of an apartment: a room divider with a curtain, the seat of a plastic chair. "Collapse and Recovery" was the motto of documenta 13, 2012, and Djordjadze's contribution had created a state of uncertainty between these two concepts.

Thea Djordjadze combines the materials of steel, plaster, and paint to create a minimalist, unsettling environment that seems clinical, domestic, or sexual - a structure reminiscent of Eastern Bloc architecture.

Djordjadze was mentored by and occasionally collaborates with renowned feminist artist Rosemarie Trockel. Her works explicitly recall pop culture, science and literature. The sculptor also incorporates into her work the experience of growing up in formerly communist-ruled Georgia. "I see my practice as a reordering of time," the artist said.

This work is in excellent condition with no discernible condition issues. Detailed condition report available upon request.
