Ruohan Wang’s work comes from the ingenious interweaving of contrasting and pure colors. The artist’s multicultural background, from China to Germany, has established the individuality of the surreal world in her works, where abstract figures meet real-life characters. She focuses on the theme of "movement and coexistence" and brings her approach to life in the form of illustrations and paintings, as well as installations and improvisational aesthetics.

Born in Beijing, Ruohan Wang moved to Berlin to study at the University of the Arts (UdK). After her studies, she founded her studio, where she works on painting, visual art, print, public art, installation, and fashion design.

Wang has participated in group exhibitions in Berlin, New York, and Shanghai, among other cities, as well as collaborated with brands like Nike, Apple, and The New York Times.

Ruohan Wang

COHERENCE by Ruohan Wang describes the nature of the correlation between waves and their own waves and the coexistence between waves and other waves with respect to some internal physical quantity.
The term "unity of mind and body,"  as coined by the Chinese philosopher Wang Yangming in the Ming Dynasty, is mainly used to describe the unity of the opposition between the mental and physical, the unity of the opposition between the spiritual and the material, and the unity of the opposition between the essence and the phenomena.
<meta charset="utf-8">Everyone is a self-contradictory body; the body and the mind are related, so how to find the entrance and exit to a self-related but contradictory existence is the theme of my artistic life at the moment. Only through a vivid state of life in the way of self-experience in the real existence of the self can we maintain physical and mental performance.

The richness of colors and shapes in RUOHAN WANG’s THE BELT gives the art carpet space for multiple heights of material layers, including the finest silk in the parts with high color density. A detailed structure from 2D to 3D shows the loosening of the me-dog's belt— a clue that triggers a whimsical surreal relationship between humans and nature.

THE BAIT by RUOHAN WANG is an art carpet made from the most natural wool’s softness and roughness to saturate fluffiness in the three-dimensional perception of the work. A complex texture structure is presented through the combination of two different processes of full fusion cut piles and loop piles to represent a psychological dialogue between the artist and obsession.
