NEW THIS WEEK ON MISA.ART!

Greeting an artsy autumn ahead of us with your weekly dose of news happening on misa.art: Çiğdem Aky is our artist of the week introducing her characteristic artistic approach, LoopingLovers present this week’s NFT booth showing three of their digital artpieces and Georg HaberlerFrederik Næblerød and Andy Kassier deliver the artist news of the week with their attendance at the current group show at Alice Folker Gallery in Copenhagen.

Artist of the week: Çiğdem Aky

In each of her works, Çiğdem Aky works on the three pillars of depth, texture, and hue. Her "painterly research work," the artist herself describes in one short sentence: "I apply color - and react to it." In her painting, the Munich-based artist uses an uncompromisingly clear language of form and color, always characterized by a fixed geometric element in the center and surrounded by curved, sweeping brushstrokes. Çiğdem Aky is part of the upcoming cooperation between misa.art and Die Zeit, in course of which the artist will release a hand-finished edition. Stay tuned and in the meantime, browse through her art HERE!

NFT booth of the week: Looping Lovers

LoopingLovers is formed by the multidimensional artist duo Philipp Ries and Thomas Mayer. Their work revolves around humanoid beings floating and moving freely in digital space, independent of physical restrictions. Central elements are body shapes, balanced colors and textures, which, through endless looping movements, convey a feeling through body language and are supposed to preserve it over time. The duo has managed to craft a distinct style capturing an exciting contrast between realism and surreality which they define as “digital sensuality." Check out their NFTs HERE!

Artist news: Georg Haberler, Frederik Næblerød & Andy Kassier showing at Alice Folker Gallery

Georg Haberler developed a fairly different way of painting: Using a sewing machine, he embroiders the canvas and works on its reverse side with Acrylic Ink. The elements on his works are abstract and representational, remind the viewer of childhood-drawings and are arranged in a coherent way, as if the elements play with each other. Various of his distinctive artworks are now part of the group show at Alice Folker Gallery in Copenhagen alongside other misa-artists Frederik Næblerød or Andy Kassier. See some of Haberler’s works HERE!
